This is San Diego: Fifth grade Water Experiences
I remember when I was at the beach, and the water was really cold . My mom made me get in the water. My whole family was there and my friend. I went in the water and I stepped in a big hole. Then I could not see the light for a minute. After that, I DID NOT like water for a long time. Then one day the water was nice and blue and then I went in and I liked the fresh water.

Once my mom and I went to fiesta island with my dog, Mandy, and my mom's friends dogs, Hank and Riley. We went swimming in the lake part that people and dogs can swim in. We swam to the center and back again. When we got to the shore we threw the dog's toy really far on the sand and Hank, Riley, and Mandy went after it. Mandy is slower than the other dogs so when thdy were coming back Mandy got run over by hank and she got coved with mud. She needed a bath really bad.

I remember I was at the beach and a big wave pulled me under. I was under the water for like a minute. My mom was looking at me while it happened. She got so scared that she would not let me go back in the water for a long time.
I went to a lake and it had fish so I went fishing, and the good news is that I got four fishes, and they were black with white spots all over the body. When I turned i sat the beautiful water. I thought, “OH, NO!!!!!!!!” What about if bad people put/throw stuff in the beautiful lake so I made a sign that said, “NO THROWING OR PUTTING STUFF IN THE LAKE.(One year later) I saw it and it was CLEAN!!! This lake is not owned so there were no owners who cleaned it.

Last week, at my old school, I went on a wale watching field trip. We were going to see humpback whales. We saw a mother and a baby. There were dolphins, too. Later after that, we saw a different whale. The mom and baby were going south, but the other humpback whale was going north. At this time of year that's kind of wierd. After that, we left. I had a lot of fun on that trip.
At the John Muir library it was raining and when we went to the library, we had to walk on baskets and get our feet wet. I was so cold, because the water was cold, and it was cold weather! When I stepped on the baskets my feet shrunk to the bottom, and my jeans got all wet. I will never forget that ever. I wish that could happen again someday.
When I went to the beach it was freezing cold. When I went I was 5 years old. I got buried and the water went on me. When I got out I was cold and hungry too. Then we left, and then I was warm.
The day I went to the beach was with my cousins and my brother. It was fun catching all those waves. I just can't imagine the ocean being polluted so I couldn't swim in it any more. That's why you have to keep the ocean clean and do not throw garbage in it. Or all of us will have to suffer the consequences.
I went to Mission Bay with my dad to go fishing. I cast my line and then right then I got a bite. I reeled for my life, and finally I could see the fish. It was a spotted bay bass. It was the biggest spotted bay bass I have ever caught. At one point we got stuck in seaweed.
When I went to the beach with my sister, dad, and my mom I went to scuba dive in the water. While I was down in the water my sister went with me I saw at least two types of fish. I saw a yellow fish and a little guppy. I thought it was but actually it was just a toy lost at sea. After a few minutes my sister and I got tired so we decided to ride our boogie boards. There was one big wave that tossed us over on one side. After that we decided to get something to eat and we went home.
One time at the beach I was swimming, and then I thought I saw a shark swimming towards me, so I started swimming back to shore, but I slipped into a pothole and started drowning. I got back up onto the water and started swimming so fast, and there was a little water splashing up behind me. But when I got to shore I saw that it was my daddy.
One day I and my dad went to the lake to go kayaking. We packed snacks like hot chiles for the trip. But I ended eating all of it. When we took a break we went to shower and we saw a turtle. I took one good look. it turned out one of the animals ate him/her. So we went to tell the park ranger, and they took care of that.
The day I went to the beach it was awesome it wasn't really polluted!!!! But now it is probably polluted, SO I will try to help the environment . I hope that one day the world will be clean again! I would love that! If we don't pollute the earth we won't have the glaciers melting or our polar bears dying.
I went to the Sea World with my aunt. Once me and brother went to the dolphin show and me and my brother sat in the front-- big mistake. We got soaked really bad, and it was salt water, and it was cold. After that we had a lot of hot food and drinks. We went to the sea otter show it was really fun, and I had a really good time.
I went to the Seal Beach with my family last year. It has seals all over, yet it was supposed to be a Childrens Pool. There were seals resting on the sand and eating. There were some small ones where there were rocks. There were some swimming in the rocky waters by the bigger ones. We could see some swimming over to the bridge like thing we were standing on. The waves where crashing against us. I got sprayed HARD that night! I can't imagine how the seals could stand it!
Hula Dancing
On the island of Waikiki,
I danced to “Lovely Hula Hands”,
my hands
swaying softly
as the grass blows,
my hips
moving slowly
as the ocean settling
down on the shore,
my legs and feet
flowing
back and forth,
my hair
moving
cool as a breeze in
the palm trees.
