South Dakota My great, great grandparents came to California from Rosebud Indian Reservation, South Dakota. It was the early 1820’s when they arrived. They came on train and brought their heritage, spirituality, culture, six children, and their personal belongings. They came because my great, great grandfather got permission to move to California from the US government. They also moved exactly to Seaside, California! My great, great grandfather had his reasons to move to California. The reservation turned into a concentration camp, so he left. Plus, he wanted to free his spirit so that’s another reason why he left. But mostly he always wanted to live near the ocean so thay’s the last reason he moved to California. By Andrew, Gr. 4
