Exotic Indian foods
India is known as the spice bowl of the world. India’s key to success in cooking is their technique of blending spices and herbs. The herbs and spices would be added to a dish during the cooking to give it more flavor and aroma. Indian foods are based on their six tastes which are sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter, and astringent. Indians use sweetness for nourishment of the mind. Sour foods simulate enzymes. Salty foods simulate digestions. Pungent tastes improves metabolism and dilates channel in the body. Foods with bitter tastes eliminate bacterial elements, and purifies the blood. Astringent tastes green vegetables and bettelnut leaves pauses the properties to heal inner ulcers and wounds. by Isaac, Gr. 11
Filibertos'
Some would say that Filiberto's is one of the best taco shops in North Park. They always the uses the freshest ingredients possible; which makes their food extra yummy. Plus, the customer service there is pretty awesome. They make you feel like your one of their friends instead of just another customer. One of the many things I love is, you can go there once, and they' ll still be able to remember you. My friend Cecilia and I always go there after school just to share some carne asada fries. We go there so often that they've memorized our order, and our names. The burritos there are huge! The meat they use is always so juicy and cooked just right. They give you the biggest portions of food, but that's not reflected in their prices at all. It's amazing that they're even able to make any profit.
Lee’s Chinese/Thai Cuisine is at 6925 Linda Vista Road. The food is great averaging around 8-10 dollars a plate. There is always enough to easily fill you and it is always fresh. By Garrett, Gr. 11
Market Place The name of one grocery store that sells Mexican food is The Market place. they sell Mexican bread, Jarrito soda, fruit that's from Mexico, meat, and other stuff. All of this food we use to eat. The fruit we use to make like a saled of fruit. We can use it for everything we would like to make. The soda tastes good. It has like a orange flaver. KV, gr. 7
Hot Sauce
A rushing volcano erupts in my mouth
Bubbling thick red hot sauce
When I swallow I feel it boiling in my stomach As the steam comes out of my ears my face turns bright red
It slowly cools off. But to this day I can
Still feel it going down my throat like a red hot chili peppers on fire!

Vietnamese Foods- Vietnamese cuisine subscribes to the same Chinese principles of yin and yang — the balance of opposites — but takes on its own distinct personality through the use of local ingredients and indigenous spices. As in China, you will find a balance of the five flavors, sweetness, sourness, saltiness, hotness, and bitterness — cooked in stir fries, hearty soups, rice and noodle dishes. But in Vietnam, their dishes will be laced with limes and lemongrass, light and pungent fish sauce, or wrapped in delicate lettuce leaves with fresh, feathery herbs. Neighboring Southeast Asian countries also use the same indigenous flavorings, but somehow they never quite hit the unique union of technique and taste that appears in Vietnamese cuisine. Justin
