Welcome

The mission of Muir School is to create global citizens. Communicating with students around the world through CyberFair gives our students understandings that are beyond the textbook.

This year the topic of our CyberFair is ethnicity, and more specifically the harmony and community groups that serve ethnic groups in San Diego. We investigate families, schools, community groups, neighborhoods, arts, churches, festivals, foods, and housing. We consider these questions:

Who are San Diegans of 2008? Which traditions and connections from homelands do we maintain? How do we people of San Diego see ourselves? What is the immigrant experience like in America? What types of prejudice or discrimination do we face? How would we like to be treated? Are we achieving “the American Dream”? Do homeland cultural traditions continue in America?
