| Chef I would like to be a chef. People can cook in food stores, outside on a barbeque or in a restaurant. In the future people will need chefs to cook food. People will buy cooked food. I would study how to cook food. I want this job because the first time I cooked was so exciting and cooking is fun. People like my food that I cook. Isaac, Grade 5 |

| Ruby's Ruby's is a 40's/50's theme diner. It's owned by the son of Ruby. Ruby is and was a very beautiful woman. She has black short curly hair and ruby red lips. Throughout the restaurant there are many pictures and statues of her. There are many Ruby's throughout the states, I worked at the one in Mission Valley Mall. It is located in the heart of the mall. On weekdays it is open from 8 to 10 and on the weekends from 8 to 11. In being a diner they are known for their shakes and burgers. Ruby's has won many awards for their cleanliness. When working at Ruby's, you could have numerous jobs. There are at least six positions that I know of. I started off as a hostess and that paid $7.50. I worked my way up to fountain and foo running which paid $6.75 plus tips form the servers. working at Ruby's we were required to wear uniforms. I had to wear a red and white pinstripe bottom up dress that cam to mid-thigh. Hair had to be up in either red or white ponytail with white socks and shoes. I enjoyed the many peole I worked with and got to meet. There would be at least twelve services on at one time. I think that this organization will be aorund for many years to come. | Restaurant work Working at a family restaurant has been a great experience for me because it had given me many different kinds of benefit, for instance it helps me with my social skill and learn how to communicate with others. | Subway, by Jimmy, Grade 5 I might want to work in Subway. My cousin works there. People need to go there and buy breakfast and lunch. I would need to learn how to count money and how to get it right like chicken ham or beef, relish and salad. I want to work there beacuse my cousin works there. |

| Easy Take Out Burger This business is owned by an individual. It is a franchise. It has been in operation since 1970. They say they sell the best tasting burgers. About twenty-five people work at the restaurant. They like that the restaurant is small and that everybody is friendly.The workers have uniforms they have a red hat and a red shirt and black pants. The pay for starters is six-seventy-five which is minimum wage. This business will be needed in ten years because Americans like eating burgers and Fernch fries. They don't like cooking at home so they have to go to a restaurant. I don't think it will change to meet new demands only the salaries might change. Ellen, Grade 12 |
